The United States bears much of the blame for the ongoing bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and nearby parts of Israel. Indeed, were it not for misguided Israeli and American policies, Hamas would not be in control of the territory in the first place.

The Jammu and Kashmir State of India had legislative assembly election results declared last month. The separatists had given a boycott call, but not many listened to them. Not a single political outfit offered a word of sympathy to their positions. People voted for the pro-Indian parties overwhelmingly.

The war will be here at home, waged mostly in the halls of Congress, where grim lobbyists for one of the top 15 economies in the world are digging in to preserve their stake in the massive U.S. military budget.
