El Partido Comunista de Estados Unidos rechaza inequivocadamente el fallo anunciada el 4 de junio por un panel de tres jueces del Tribunal de Apelaciones del circuito que posterga la liberación de los cinco hombres cubanos quienes este 12 de septiembre habrán cumplido diez años de encarcelación injusta. Ellos son Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, René González, Antonio Guerrero y Ramón Labañino.

La semana pasada, casi diez meses después de los abogados defensores presentaron sus argumentos, el Tribunal de Apelaciones del 11mo Circuito afirmaron las sentencias de los prisioneros conocidos como los Cinco Héroes Cubanos – Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, René González, Ramón Labañino y Antonio Guerrero. Sin embargo, los jueces revocaron la sentencia de cadena perpetua impuesta a Labañino y Guerrero y la sentencia de 19 años impuesta a Fernando González. Los jueces notaron que “ninguna información de alto secreto fue obtenida ni tranmitida”. Un juez en Miami tendrá que sentenciar a estos tres de nuevo.
