WATERBURY, Conn. - Más de cien trabajadores inmigrantes fueron físicamente excluidos del Centro de Gubernamental Rowland el viernes, 10 de mayo, cuando trataron de asistir a una audiencia pública del Departamento de Vehículos de Motores (DVM). Esta violación de derechos democráticos fue aun más alarmante viendo que la audiencia pública era para discutir una propuesta que prohibiría a inmigrantes, que tienen visas permitiéndolos vivir y trabajar en Estados Unidos temporeramente, a conseguir licencia de manejar.

When Sikorsky Aircraft landed a contract to build Comanche helicopters for the Army, Connecticut’s media headlined the 500 jobs it would bring to Bridgeport. In small print, they revealed that there would only be 150 new jobs – the rest are transfers from a neighboring town.

BATH, Maine - Walking slowly over the Kennebec River Bridge on May 12, 300 peace activists looked down on four nuclear-armed destroyers under construction for the U.S. Navy at the Bath Iron Works here. The skies threatened rain, drums sounded and solidarity honks were heard from passing cars.
