As PWW cartoonist David Baldinger recovers from his surgery, we continue to run historic cartoons from our archives. This one by Ollie Harrington, who drew for the Daily World, shows the rising cost of military spending in the 1980s and its link to the rising cost of food.
Last week, Congress and the president just approved the largest military spending bill in history, $460 billion (not including current war spending), while Pres. Bush vetoed the domestic spending bill that would fund education, job training and health programs.
Posting guidelines: User posts and comments that include profanity or personal attacks or other inappropriate comments, such as anti-working class, sexist, racist, anti-Semitic, anti-Communist, homophobic or other offensive material will be removed from the site. In addition, discussion threads that appear to be confined to two people, do not add to the discussion and/or are repetitive may also be deleted.
