The 41st Chicago International Film Festival runs Oct. 6-20. One hundred five films representing 36 countries, and four programs of shorts, will be featured at the AMC River East (Illinois and Columbus) and the Landmark (Diversey and Clark). Nineteen films will compete for the gold Hugo Award at this country’s longest-running film festival. Chicago will star in four homegrown features.
The festival’s Black Perspective program will honor Terrance Howard, who exploded into national attention with the film “Crash.” That event takes place on Oct. 14 at the Bank One auditorium. Ten films from five countries, will compete for the documentary competition.
With ticket prices at $11, movie lovers should think about passes that run between $60 and $200. More information is available at: 312-332-FILM.
