That's because "kooky" Ron Paul is striking a chord with many disenfranchised Republicans (and lots of Democrats!) who see this war for the shameless sham that it is. So do active military, who donate to Ron Paul more than any other candidate by a factor of 3 to 1.
Yeah, peace is kooky. So is a stable economy, I guess. I'll be the kooky one voting for keeping our freedoms and civil liberties tomorrow. Call me crazy.
